'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Everyone's still got a chance

Simon Grayson has warned his players not to get complacent ahead of the new season.

United have so far put in some mixed performances in pre season.

On Saturday they probably put in their best performance when dominating Premiership side Blackburn Rovers for long periods.

Last week Grayson admitted that he tore into his side at half time after a poor performance in the first 45 minutes at Grimsby Town.

Grayson told the squad when they returned from their summer break and ready for pre season that it was a fresh start for the whole squad with all places up for grabs.

Speaking in the YEP Grayson said 'I've got a rough outline of what might happen but I really have given the players the opportunity to influence that and to shine."

Leeds have probably the biggest squad in League One so a number of players will be disappointed to miss out when the team sheet for the first game of the season is announced, however he says things can change overnight and the opportunity for fringe players from last season to find a starting place are still up for grabs.

Two of Grayson`s regulars under his stewardship last season Richard Naylor and Neil Kilkenny are struggling to be fit for the opening day of the season so the opportunity will be there for fringe players to come in and take their chances when presented.

WIth the size of the squad its a good headache for SG to have ahead of the new season. No player should be complacent, he's shown he will not be messed about and if their performances dip they could quite easily see themselves replaced in the side. Great headache for SG to have.

Hopefully now we will get rid of more people from here on then we bring in...There are plaenty of players who probably shouldn't be here including Lubo, Prutton, Sheehan, Huntington and Kandol!

If Sheehans chance hadnt gone before Saturday it should have gone now and hs partner in crime who ducked under the pass instead of heading it away Michalik should also be shown the door. I was almost wondering why we shouldnt give him another chance until he did that. I have been critical of Huntington fo not coming up to the mark but he did okay yesterday. (at least he passed the ball out of defence instead of aimless hoofing and won hs headers). I think four or five will be on their way by the end of August.
