LUFC - Leeds Irish eyes are smiling

Leeds finished their mini pre season tour of Ireland with a 3-1 victory at Glentoran.

Simon Grayson decided not to tinker with the team to much for this game after playing two different sides for each half in the first two games of pre season.

Leeds put out what could almost be the starting line up for the first game of the season in the first half.

Shane Higgs came back into the side in place of Casper Ankergren and Alan Martin got a rare ten minutes for Leeds in goal at the end of the game.

Leeds started the scoring thanks to a good strike on the quarter hour by Robert Snodgrass.

Jermaine Beckford continued his good pre season form with his third goal in three games when he doubled the lead on the stroke of half time.

Leeds had thrown away two goal starts in their first two pre season games and they was beginning to think lightning would strike for a third time when Grant Gardiner pulled one back for Glentoran.

The Whites wrapped things up inside the last ten minutes when Enoch Showunmi scored a third.

Leeds make it three games unbeaten in pre season and now return to England with two games on Tuesday night, one at Grimsby Town and one at Wealdstone.

Team
Higgs (Martin 80), Hughes (Darville 80), Michalik, Huntington (Lee 46), Parker (White 46), Snodgrass (Showunmi 59), Delph (Johnson 59), Howson (Prutton 66), Robinson (Sheehan 66), Beckford (Grella 67), Becchio (Elliott 75).

It's nice to get the feeling of winning again for the first time this season...Long may it continue!

Good that we actually held onto a two goal lead! Beckford, Becchio and Snodgrass could get 70 goals between them this season if they all stay at the club.
