LUFC - Kilkenny injury not to serious

Simon Grayson expects Leeds midfielder Neil Kilkenny to be back in action sooner rather than later.

Kilkenny suffered a reoccurrence of the ankle injury he sustained in the Play off semi final against Millwall last season last Thursday.

Speaking in the YEP Grayson said 'Killa rocked his ankle on Thursday when we had a practice match. He's had an injection and needs to rest it for four or five days. It's nothing major.'

The Australian international became an integral part of the Leeds United midfield in the second half of last season which as seen him being linked this summer with Premiership club Fulham and Championship side Doncaster Rovers.

Grayson expects Kilkenny to be back in training at the end of the Ireland tour.

I thought he was another player whose performances improved 100% under Simon Grayson.

And hopefully he will be back for the first game of the season to lead the team again although Howdon has been very goodvin leading the midfield this pre season...

Killa seems the sort of guy to have fitness problems. He is going to find it tough getting up to fitness unless he can hit the ground running pretty soon. Looking at last years stats he was subbed 22 times out of 31 starts and often looked completely spent after an hour.Lets hope he sorts his problems out as he came on a lot under larry.
