'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hate Mail Hurts Blackwell

Kevin Blackwell has ruled out quitting Leeds and vowed not to be beaten by the supporters who have sent him hate mail.

The abuse from a minority of supporters has, according to reports, included threats of physical violence.

The Elland Road club have not won in six games since he signed a new contract to stay at the club. And a section of the fans fear the slide could ruin the chances of winning the Play-offs.

Blackwell told BBC Radio Leeds: 'At no point have I considered leaving the club and I will certainly not be driven out by those who make threats.

'I am very proud to be manager of Leeds United Football Club.

'If people are not happy with what I'm doing, I don't have to hang around here.

'There's a history we have to carry and it's a heavy burden for players to carry but I think they have done it fantastically well this season.

'I said to people there would be a lot of twists and turns before the end of the season and that has proved to be the case.'
