LUFC - Feeney set to sign?

Sky Sports News reported that Northern Ireland and Cardiff Striker Warren Feeney is to undergo a medical on Monday 29th of June before signing on July 1st when the transfer window opens.

At the moment Feeney is under contract at Cardiff but has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Swansea and Dundee United where he scored 11 goals in 32 games.

With the impending departure of Leeds top goalscorer Jermaine Beckford, Simon Grayson is looking for at least 1 striker this summer to fill the void as Enoch Showunmi comes back from his long spell out.

Leeds fans can hope that if there is truth in the story that he will act as a good partner up front with Lucciano Becchio as Leeds make their third push for promotion out of League 1.

well clearly hes not the man to replace beckford, but i suppose its another striking option
benlufc
I'm not sure about this one, would much sooner see Sharpe and cash for Beckford if he is going to leave this summer.
dazza71
Hopefully if the report is true then we didnt pay uch for him as I dont think he will make much of an impact...Only time will tell though
Gromjo
Not a renowned goalscorer, otherwise he'd have a better Club C V, we have enough bench players why do we need more
Tiny T
Larry must fancy him dropping down a division ??? Scored plaenty for Bournemouth and Stockport at this level but not donen much since. Interesting how many clubs were after him including Norwich and Huddersfield.
erni
Maybe thats were he should have gone
Tiny T
If reports are true we didnt pay anything for him but agreed to keep his wages gping. Effectively Cardiff wanted him off the books as they are not flush for cash and have sold a couple of players close season. Despite all the spin I cant get excited about this.
erni
Me neither Erni, journeyman player
Tiny T
I have an odd feeling that he could be a success but we will just have to wait and see
Gromjo
The Yorks Post is saying it is a done deal.
erni
Feeney also did an interview saying he was in contact with Leeds so it seems that the official website are the only people who havnt said anything
Gromjo
well glynn snodin is assistant to NI boss nigel worthington. maybe that has something to do with it
benlufc
i think were all dreaming that the 3 million plus sharpe deal will come true, not going to happen i dont think!
leeds_till_I_die
i no its league 1 but surely we can attract better players..dont even think he`ll get a chance to impress...lets hope wen the season starts we hav a few experienced players ready to put there all in to gettin SLUFC back to the top..
TWINY-LUFC
And in the end after all the reports it turned about to just be speculation!
