LUFC - Leeds favourites for promotion

LUFC - Leeds favourites for promotion

Leeds United have once again been installed as early season favourites for the League One title next season by the bookmakers.

After failing for the second season running in the Play Off`s Leeds are clear favourites to go up as champions at the third attempt.

Checking the odds with Oddschecker.com who provide the markets for all the leading bookmakers online Leeds are generally priced around the 7/2 mark, four of the big firms have them as short as 3/1 to win the title.

Leeds are odds on to gain promotion either via the automatic spots or the Play offs.

With leading scorer Jermaine Beckford currently on the transfer market it`s not put fans off who were impressed with how the club finished the second half of last season under new boss Simon Grayson.

SkyBet have reported that 69% of the bets they have taken on the League One title have been on Leeds United.

They are also doing some specials for Leeds fans to get their teeth into, you can get:

9/1 on Leeds being top on September 1st
7/1, top on Christmas Day
If you want a really big priced bet you can get 66/1 on a Leeds player earning an England call up during the season.

Of the others, two relegated sides from the Championship are next in the betting with Norwich City around 7/1 and Charlton Athletic 8/1.

Last seasons other beaten play off sides Millwall and MK Dons are both amongst the front runners for the title, the Lions are around 14/1 whilst the Dons are 10/1.

West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town are also amongst the favourites with their odds being around the 12/1 mark.

Southampton who were relegated from The Championship last season and start next season on minus ten points after going into administration are generally around 20/1 with one firm having them as short as 10/1.

Brighton and Hove Albion have been the big market movers so far with their odds being cut from 33/1 to 16/1.

Yeovil Town (66/1) and Stockport County (100/1) are the least favoured sides with the bookmakers.
