'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC - Fans expected to cough up!

With the credit crunch hitting the country, Leeds fans are being expected to cough up if they haven`t already renewed their season ticket.

Over 8,000 fans took advantage of an early offer to freeze the season tickets at last season`s prices if they bought them before March 2nd.

Leeds then offered them at a new renewal price which 1,500 fans took advantage of.

With almost 10,000 new season ticket holders Leeds have now set the ticket prices much higher which have them as one of the highest priced in the Football League and higher than some Premiership clubs.

Tickets range from 441 to 646 for adults depending on which stand you wish to sit in.

Speaking in the YEP, chief executive Shaun Harvey said 'When considering setting the prices, we have to balance the anticipated expenditure of the club - the majority of which is spent on keeping Elland Road running".

The newly priced season tickets go on sale from Monday June 8th.

I know fans have had plenty of opportunity to get their season tickets by now but those prices are ridicoulus for Third Division football. Ken Bates needs to remember he's the chairman of a Yorkshire club in the Third Division and not a London club!

Trouble is a lot of people haven't known how they would be fixed have they - my other half has been made redundant and it could happen to anyone. How much is it to pay on the day at Elland Road?

646 feck me - typical Bates!"

Our season tickets at Rotherham (the ones with no discount off) are 342 for adults, which have come down a little from last season - but we are bottom tier football of course

I just don't see the logic in what bates is doing? Surely if the prices were cheaper then more people would buy them and he would make more money? He really does his reputation no good with things like this...
