LUFC - Sodje is a free agent

Sam Sodje who spent the last two months of the season on loan at Leeds has been released by his parent club Reading.

Sodje made seven appearances for the Whites and quickly became a fans favourite with his no nonsense defending.

The Nigerian international has reportedly interested a number of Championship sides with Bristol City being one mentioned earlier this week.

The 30 year old who is now a free agent is considering his options before deciding on his future.

Sodje and Naylor at the back would be a tremendous partnership, we wouldn't need to worry about Beckford's goal replacement so much because we wouldn't be conceding as many.

Spot on. That away form would certainly improve!

Yes great partnership WHEN FIT.. both over 30 with poor fitness records. no way will that duo go a full season without injury. Sodje 3 appearances for Reading in 3 seasons, passed over by many teams, could not train with Leeds due to 'bad knees' Sodje yes definately but at the right price, buyer beware damaged goods.

He already has offer from Bristol City who are aware of his injury problems and will reportedly give him a fitness test today

I`d be very surprised (and happy) if Sam came to ER permanently but I fear it will never happen. How much was he on at Reading? Let`s see if he REALLY meant what he said when he said `he loves this club and wouldn`t mind staying at ER indefinitely`. Will he take a pay cut? If not, will Mr Bates and Mr Harvey meet his wage demands?
