LUFC - Leeds watching Sodje developments

Leeds are waiting with interest the developments at Reading this weekend regarding the future of defender Sam Sodje.

Reading who also lost out in the Play offs recently are due to meet with the 29 year old defender later this week to decide on his future at the Madejski Stadium.

Sodje joined Leeds on loan in March making seven appearances and became hugely popular with the fans in his short spell for his no nonsense defending.

Reading released their player released list last week with Sodje`s name not on it.

Sodje didn`t play a game for Reading in the 2008-09 season mainly due to a serious knee injury but his future at the club was undecided last week due to his involvement with Leeds in the Play Offs.

One of the players Reading did release last week was ex Leeds defender Michael Duberry.

He would look to be a good signing if we can keep him fit. Its a stark warning of the growing distance between Div 1 and CC when a player who looks good for us cant get a game at his own club (and it was not just in his injury period) and the same goes for naylor. If we can get promoted I think Larry would have to be ruthless about who he retains.

If we do get him in another year he will be 31, What sort of contract would we offer him? I think he was the difference in the last couple of months of the season.

Let`s see if Reading offer Sam another contract-if some reports are correct there`s a chance they`ll let him go. If so -Get in..

I heard from a good source that Reading had him watched at every game he played for us and heard they were impressed in what they saw, I have a funny feeling they will be keeping him, I was told Reading are in talks with a New manager and are close to getting there man and Sodje fits in the plans, Lets hope not i agree he was Brilliant and would be a great signing for us Fingers crossed, Also heard from a good source at Leeds that we will be making an approach for Lambert ?????

Sodje ould be the best free transfer in many a year. I'm not too worried about how good the players are at Championship level. We'll worry about that once we get up, when we'll have a new budget. At the moment we just need players to get us there...

I would just like to make a point.BIG CLUBS DO NOT SPEND AT LEAST THREE SEASONS IN THE 3RD TIER OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL.

I have to say, there's nothing sweet about your feet or any other part of you, and I'll not be the only football fun who'll raise a smile if the global credit crunch forces the Glazers to sell up and leaves you with huge debts and no-one keen to take them on. Having said that, even though I despise ManU, I'll support you in Europe since I'm a fan of British football, but you and the team you support from your sofa need to learn to win AND lose with some good grace, sunshine.

Well thats the difference between United and L666ds,we would NEVER want you to do well. The reason you want us to win is that your all secret Reds! UNITED FOREVER FOREVER UNITED.
SweetLeftFoot
Would he last the season playing week in week out though ?
Tiny T
Obviouslyu he wouldnt and we need good back-up. It has been said over the past few days that he didnt train at all while he was with us.....(remnds you of Lucas)... so we would need someone to step up when he is rested.
