LUFC - Millwall v Leeds preview

Leeds travel to Millwall for the first leg of the Play Off semi final in what is sure to be an electric atmosphere at the Den.

The Lions form has been inconsistent recently and they lost their last game of the season at Carlisle United 2-0.

Millwall`s biggest problem after Christmas was their home form whilst their away form was very strong.

This changed towards the end of the season when they won their last three home games against Walsall, Peterborough and Leyton Orient and lost their last three away at Yeovil, Bristol Rovers and Carlisle.

At home over the season they won 13 drew 4 and lost 6.
Away they won 12, drew 3 and lost 8.

The Whites finished the season strongly only losing one of their final fourteen games and that was at Champions Leicester City with the last kick of the game.

On the final day of the season Leeds beat Northampton 3-0 to leapfrog Millwall in the table.

Leeds away form was average to say the least before March winning only six games. This improved in the run in with three wins from their last four games.

Away over the season Leeds have won 9, drawn 4 and lost 10.
At home they are one game away from equalling a club record twelve straight wins, over the season they have won 17, drawn 2 and lost 4.

The clubs have met eleven times at the old and new Den.

Millwall have the advantage at home with 6 wins to Leeds 3 although this seasons 3-1 victory for the hosts was their first on home soil for five games against Leeds.

Luciano Becchio gave Leeds the lead at the Den earlier in the season just past the half hour, this was short lived at the hosts were in front by the hour thanks to goals from Dave Martin and Neil Harris.
Harris wrapped the game up in the final few minutes with his second of the game.

I think we are a much better side than the one that lost at Millwall in October. In fact I think we are a much better team now than the one that beat them 2-0 in February. COME ON LEEDS
dazza-I agree. I also think we are a much better side than last season where we just missed out on promotion. This time we will go one better.

Lets hope so MOT
DEAR OH DEAR OH DEAR OH DEAR..!!!! What is all this cr*p about premier league clubs queing up to sign the lad delph for 10 big ones..Id have thought you lot would have still been embarrased after the last time smurf pulled this stunt, and you all fell flat on your faces..??? When he comes up against anything like decent midfield opposition he bottles it and fades into oblivion..He was so cr*p against us that you had to bring him off.. LOL LOL LOL If you are hoping to scam as much as 10,000 for him then take my advice and leave him out of the side tomorrow,or any teams with scouts watching him at the match will split their sides laughing...Maybe you could use the excuse that he's managed to catch the same bug that has struck down dennis

Come on lets face it you left yourseves wide open for that one..!

Not so much of a cheap shot, more just stating the obvious..May the best team on the day win out tomorrow..(and if you win i will do my utmost to be the first one on this site to unresevedly congratulate you) Yours in sport 80s terrier...

Thank you 80s T, I bet you cant wait for us to go up Town being the only team to do the double over us and you know that wouldnt ever happen again! ;-) Delph is a very talented young lad with premiership potential. Your ex player Stead went to the prem and be honest Delph is a better player than him! lol Do you think you will have Smithies next season? Like you yours in sport
Personaly i am one of the many Town fans who would NOT want to see Steardy in a Town shirt at the present time..Couldnt care less how he fared after his Town tenure..When all's said and done we got a good pay out at the time and moved on...The lad Smithies may or may not be a Town player next season,we will have to wait and see..One thing for sure is that we arent hawking him around the tabloids like smurf is doing with the lad delph..!! Our stance on Smithies is we want to keep hold of him,and unlike you lot we have plenty of money and dont need to sell Smithies or any other player on our books for that matter..You obviously read my comments above bw so you will be aware of my prediction regarding young delph..I said "When he comes up against anything like decent midfield opposition he bottles it and fades into oblivion"..Its therefore no supprise to me,or anybody else outside the leeds bubble that he did exactly that today,as i predicted he would..You should have taken my advice and told the press he had the "pennis bug" and given him the day off... From your perspective its to be hoped there werent any of those scouts i mentioned earlier at the match today,or by now you(smurf) will be a laughing stock...From everybody else's perspective, you were a laughing stock before the match(in relation to the delph price tag)...10m NAH he's an average div1 player and you cant dress him up any other way..! If smurf carrys on with this embarrasing rhues then you will have to pay scouts to come and watch before too Its still all to play for against millwall, all is not lost,i got the impression that the millwall roar made a lot of difference in the second half, and as you say elland rd will surely be a similar stiuation with what is likely to be a large vocal crowd..Pennis and co will have their work cut out between now and Thursday getting the players heads up for the tie..millwall on the other hand know they have the final in their grasp now,and are going to give you a strong run for your money..Regarding Thursday and the lad delph, you are now in a no win stituation..Play him and risk another abismal performance that you cannot possibly afford...Or drop him and concede he is cr*p,loosing once and for all his fantasy price tag in the process... May the best team go through at the end of the day.. Yours in sport 80s terrier.. l
