LUFC - Leeds ratings v Tranmere

Vital Leeds member Tiny T gives us his regular verdict on the Leeds display at Elland Road.

Ankergren 7

Apart from being 50% to blame for the goal, another solid game from the man between the sticks, made a number of important saves.

Douglas 9 Star man

Impressive performance from Dougie, timely interventions and got forward well.

Naylor 6

Not as comfortable in this game as he would have liked but stuck to his task.

Sodje 7

Won nearly every header, including the O G, well nobody is perfect. At times had time to bring the ball under control but chose to head away, committed display though.

Parker 7

Solid defensive display from young Ben.

Snodgrass 5

A goal assist but not at his best, lacked a spark today and left Dougie exposed at times.

Howson 8

Tackled his heart out and nearly scored with a thunderbolt early on. Pushed forward when possible.

Kilkenny 8

Another good fighting display from the moaning Aussie.

Robinson 6

Lacks a spark when he starts a game, better as an impact player.

Becchio 7

Good display and a goal, but it hit him and went in, but they all count.

Beckford 7

Great first goal and worked hard for the cause.

Subs
Johnson 6 Got stuck in and tracked back well.

Hughes Not enough time for an opinion.

Grella Not enough time for an opinion.

All four goals scored by us, I had Sodje to score but not for them!

Lack of width with Snodgrass and Robinson spending too much time coming inside and both were lacklustre today.

Defensively troubled especially in the middle which is unusual.

A little bit more composure on the ball and poor passing gave the ball to Tranmere far too much.

Howsen and Kilkenny were my men of the match. I thought Ankergren was 90% to blame for the goal, dropped the next two crosses (one of which should hav resulted in a goal) and could have cost us the game in a mad 10 minutes. He was totally in no mans land when Sodje headed the ball back to him, either you come and get it or stay on your line and was no better than a 5.Sodje's mistake was to trust he would be where he should have been and not directng it wide of the goal. I thought Robinson was poor and no more than 5. Howsen and Kilkenny carried him for effort until Johnson came on to take some of the work. Hes no more than an effective substitute.
