LUFC - Leeds sign defender

Leeds United have signed Reading central defender Sam Sodje on an initial loan deal which will expire on the 25th April, they do have an option though to extend this if they are involved in the play offs.

The Nigerian international started his professional career at Brentford in 2004 where he became a huge fans favourite.

He made 83 appearances for the club scoring 12 goals and earned a place in the PFA League One team of the year in 2005/06.

The 29 year old has been at Reading since 2006 but has rarely featured for the Royals in that time.

He has however enjoyed loan periods at West Brom where he helped them to the Championship play off Final, Charlton Athletic and Watford.

With Rui Marques suffering a hamstring injury last Saturday against Crewe Sodje will be an important addition to the squad at this vital stage of the season.

This is the opinion of my Brentford Season Ticket holder on Sodje when i asked him this afternoon Hi Ernie He was a good player at Brentford, he played centre back and could he jump, I’ve never seen anyone jump so high to head the ball. Only concerns are discipline, mood swings and looks lazy on the pitch He was late for a Brentford match when we were going for the play off’s, Martin Allen left him out of the squad, not even on the bench and he never played like he did before, he got the hump about it He left Brentford and one club he played for was Reading, he got sent off in a match against Man U (on TV) when Reading were in the premier league I think Leeds will be too big for him We already hav one player too many with a big lower lip when things are not going right. Lets hope this guy proves my friend wrong
