LUFC - Grayson still eyes automatic spot

Simon Grayson has still not given up hope on an automatic spot after the clubs recent run of improved form.

Grayson enjoyed a similar start in management at Blackpool which saw a great end of season run clinch them a place in the play offs which they duly went onto win.
They almost went up automatically having trailed Bristol City by twelve points at one stage, it went down to the last game of the season with Blackpool needing Bristol City to lose, unfortunately at the time for them Bristol won to take the final automatic spot.

Speaking in the YEP Grayson said "We showed at Blackpool a couple of years ago that once a team gets on a run then things can start to open up. Bristol City were a long way clear at one stage but we pegged them back and, in the end, it went down to the last game"

At this same stage last season in League One Nottingham Forest were in fourth place eleven points behind Carlisle United in second place, they went on a fantastic run to clinch the automatic spot on the last day of the season so anything is still possible for Leeds.

Play-Off Hopes Ended Despite Thrilling Fightback

Leeds United saw their play-off hopes all but ended despite an enthralling fightback against Norwich City on Saturday.

Leeds trailed 3-0 but fought back to earn a point in a 3-3 draw but they are now three points behind Fulham with just one game remaining, with Fulham having a far superior goal difference.

Leeds have conceded just 13 goals at Elland Road all season but Norwich picked their way through the Leeds defence at ease to go into a three-goal lead.
