LUFC - Marques fitness boost

Rui Marques who suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday`s victory at Crewe Alexandra will hopefully be back for the weekend.

Rui was forced off at half time with the injury and sent for scans on the injury.

Fears were that he may be out for a few weeks although the results of the scan have still to comeback to the club with the extent of the injury, Leeds first team coach Ian Miller is hopeful that he will be back on Saturday, speaking on the official website Miller said "It is his hamstring, he`s done well these past few weeks and hopefully he will be back for Saturday".

The worrying thing for Leeds fans is that if he is not back for the crucial clash with MK Dons we may have to put up with Lubomir Michalik at the centre of defence!

With the loan transfer window closing on Thursday Leeds desperately need some quality cover in the defensive areas.

Good news on the defensive side is that both Andy Hughes and Frazer Richardson are expected to turn out in Tuesday`s reserve team fixture against Scunthorpe United.

Hmmm, it's a weird thing with Michalik. He looked decent in the Premier League, good in the Championship and we were desperate to get him back from Bolton. It must be a combination of confidence and coaching. Perhaps he's better suited to leagues where more good football is played and he has more time and isn't panicked. All said, it's still hard to explain a total lack of positional sense from set pieces...

Lubo ...Bolton fans always said he was a calamity waiting to happen. We need Rui fit as neither Frazer or Hughes looked in form for the reserves last night. It was the young lads who caught the eye (Milne, Lees, Falkinghm)
