LUFC -Leeds giving trial to Powell
Leeds are giving a trial to ex Derby defender Darren Powell and he`s expected to play in Wednesday`s reserve fixture against Hartlepool United.
The 33 year old was released by new Derby boss in January after playing only eight games for the Rams since joining them in November.
Powell has struggled to establish himself at any club since leaving Crystal Palace in 2005 due to a string of injuries.

He's always injured, he's hardly played regularly throughout his career, he's 33 and been without a club since January.
I can't see him being match fit for a long while, we haven't got the time to let him settle in he's got to be fit and ready from game one.

Dazza think you will find he has been training at others clubs to get his fitness up, Dont think he would be a bad signing just to bring that experience for the final push this season, lets see how he does in the reserves, But is a good defender will be at this level anyway so in my eyes nothing to lose by giving him a shot if he impresses.

Heard from a few people that he looked good last night in the reseves, played 75 minutes but looked solid, dont think its done his chances any harm to stay here for at least the end off season, be good to have another experienced head at the back who just defends and does nothing silly, he till has the legs to do a job for us anyway..

forget bout it..so what if he does well...he`s 33..we need some1 to partner naylor 4 the long haul..try form an understandin like any good centr halves...some1 round 25 26 hitting their prime would be better...
