LUFC - Poor Leeds lose again

Leeds made two changes from the side that lost at Huddersfield Town at the weekend, Andy Hughes is injured and replaced in defence by Ben Parker whilst Jonathan Douglas serves a one match suspension and is replaced in midfield by Jon Howson.

Carl Dickinson had Leeds first effort from distance but it was well saved by Gulacsi in the Hereford goal.

Taylor had Hereford`s first chance but his effort cleared the bar.

Myrie - Williams had a great chance to put the home side ahead but he lifted his effort over the bar.

Leeds went straight back down the other end but Delph`s effort was blocked by a defender.

Andy Robinson then had Leeds next effort but his shot was saved by the keeper.

Leeds really should have taken the lead when they won a penalty for a foul on Robinson, Trundle stepped up but his effort was saved.

Leeds were made to pay almost immediately when Myrie -Williams scored for the home side.

Hereford could have doubled their lead just before half time when Hewson shot just wide but they would be happy going in 1-0 up at the break.

Leeds started the second half strongly and Robinson had an early effort saved.

The visitors made a double substitution with half hour left bringing on Bradley Johnson and Mike Grella for Snodgrass and Trundle.

Hereford went 2-0 up when Fabian Brandy was at the far post to double their advantage.

Leeds made their final substitution of the night bringing on Prutton for Parker and going to three at the back.

Becchio had Leeds next effort but his shot went wide.

A terrible performance by Leeds and some of these well paid players need to take a long hard look at themselves before being allowed to pull on the Leeds shirt again.

Team news:

Hereford United -Gulacsi, Jackson, Rose, Antwi, Taylor, Gwynne, Diagouraga, Hewson, Myrie-Williams, Guinan, Brandy

Substitutes - Smith, Jones, Done, Johnson, Veiga.

Leeds United - Ankergren, Parker, Naylor, Marques, Dickinson, Snodgrass, Delph, Robinson, Howson, Becchio, Trundle

Substitutes - Michalik, Grella, Johnson, Prutton, Lucas.

Tiny T
Cos they are a bunch of fancy dans who ythink they are better than they are and think they dont have to work for success
erni
Appalling! Listened to this on the web in 'Dam. To hear Eddie Gray that despondent is worrying indeed...
AmsterdamWhite

pity eddie gray ??/ he is getting paid to watch...my son is making a 7-8 hr round trip and PAYING to watch it.......lets be worried for the fans
erni
This was a ridiculous performance. Most of these players shouldn`t be even wearing the Leeds shirt. We`ve been sussed-stop Becks (by video evidence if not on the pitch) and crowd Delph out and you`ve done us. None of other players have much pace at all..Looks like another season in League One (making money and memories for the rest of the L1 teams again) -is looming. Don`t much fancy it-do you?

Not to mention the fact that Hereford had much better loanees than us. Hereford: 2 from Liverpool and 1 from M*nU. Leeds: 1 from Stoke and 1 from Bristol City. No disrespect to Stoke and Bristol C. but there`s really no comparison: Why don`t we ever get this class of player on loan?
Rotherham White
Loanees arnt the answer we want our own playing for their jobs although it is interesting to note their laonees were young and up and coming while two out of three of our loans have been at the fag end of their careers and one knew he was playing his latch match. n the last two matchs we have been kept out by teenage goalkeepers playing out of their skins (week after week) while our young keeper is playing out of his skin for Barrow.
erni
No excuse for continuous poor performances at this stage of the season.
Tiny T
WORKSHY!! If you're gonna rock up to places like Hereford through the week thinking it's gonna be cruise when they're scrapping to get out the bottom 4 then you're wrong. Too many of your lot turn up, collect their funny money and couldn't care less about the heart or fans of the club, but it's always nice to have Leeds on the CV (just as long as they don't mention which seasons!

I don't pity Eddie Gray, but it's alarming when even he says how bad it was. Normally, he'll talk up a performance for the sake of his employers, but last night the best he could offer was ''we shouldn't forget we are a League 1 club...' Sad times indeed....

I am not interested in how we were playing so poor, Have we not as leeds fans been saying this most of the season, a couple of loan signings and we all got carried away i have said all along that they will not make us the team we should be trundle is not the player we need at leeds we need a striker who will put the ball in the net,Naylor was a great signing and dickinson has gone back and after last nights performance that was poor, I am just saying i want better for leeds and it will take more than loan signings to get us out of this mess,we dont deserve to go up with the performance last night i was embarrased to be a leeds fan where do we go from here??????????????????? another season in league 1 i think .....

Oh dear Oh dear, Made my week that result!

Can`t wait for the game on Saturday when we`ll only just beat Cheltenham at ER by the skin of our teeth with a bit of luck-and all of a sudden and as if by magic we`re promotion certainties again! Simon Grayson said "I'm not going to criticise individual players because that's not my style but we've had words in there." We all know all about not doing your dirty washing in public but these "wage thieves" should be named and shamed. And thensent down the road. In fact there`s no need to name `em because we already know who they are. As someone else once remarked-maybe the problem is the board who think League One is great financially for us and the rest of League One. Premiership style gate receipts with League One wages. And maybe Chairman Bates should be more interested in spending money bringing in quality players than planning leisure complexes, night clubs, hotels and the like. That should come later.
Rotherham White
Terrier24.....no matter how ***** we are we still manage to stay above you ;)
yorkshirepride1
maybe!! mr pride but that stat is guna go down the pan along with your team. i can see town been above leeds this weekend. come on cheltenham!!!
