LUFC - Beckford apologetic

Jermaine Beckford was very apologetic after pleading guilty to violent conduct and accepting the three match ban imposed by the FA.

Beckford was charged with elbowing Millwall keeper David Forde in Monday`s TV clash although he only received a yellow card at the time of the incident.

Speaking on the official website Beckford said 'I would like to apologise to my team-mates and to the fans that I will now miss a number of games,' he told the club's official website. 'I have every confidence that the players will continue the push up the table, and my only concern now is getting back in the team when my suspension has ended.'

Beckford starts his suspension against near neighbours Huddersfield Town this Saturday.

Lets hope he's learnt his lesson, the biggest lesson to learn is don't do it in front of the live TV cameras!

Long as it's a lesson learned, should be fine from now on!

He was sent off at Gillingham last year for two silly offences after we were already down to 10 men so doesnt seemed to have learned a lot

ha!!!!!! ha!!!!!!

From a totaly unbiased point of view, and having seen the video footage,i thought the Millwall keeper came out and deliberatly clattered the lad beckford(with a punch to the head)..There was definate contact from the keeper immediatly before the elbow incident, and it appeared that on the spur of the moment beckford retaliated with an elbow...If it were a Town playey instead of beckford i would have felt agrieved that the keeper, and not the striker were penalised.. Still rules are rules, and an elbow is an elbow at the end of the day..I for one would like to see the millwall keeper brought to account as well in all fairness,in view of the VIDEO EVIDENCE ..

After all this may have cost you 6 points..!!!!
