LUFC - Grayson happy with win

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson was a happy man after they closed the gap on the teams in the play off positions to two points.

Leeds beat fellow play off hopefuls Millwall at Elland Road thanks to two superb strikes from leading scorer Jermaine Beckford.

Speaking on the official site Grayson said "It was a big result against a good side."

Leeds finally broke the deadlock just past the half hour when Beckford cut in from the right to give the Millwall keeper no chance with a curling left foot shot, Grayson was quick to praise his 23 goal leading goalscorer saying "That`s what he can do as a goalscorer, that was Jermaine all over when he can produce moments of quality like that."

Beckford wrapped the game up in injury time with another sweet strike with his left foot, Grayson was delighted to take the three points and knew the significance, continuing he said "We knew the significance of the game, although you try and play it down. We knew we couldn`t afford to lose."

Leeds now travel to West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town on Saturday lunch time hoping to improve on their patchy away form.

Graysons happy with the win....we are ALL happy with the win...it was a MUST win and gainst Millwall too....just need to make sure we dont do a Walsall at Huddersfield...Their fans were giving it large on Leeds Radio saying we were rubbish, didnt deserve to win and they are going to bring us back down to earth

I still think we have got a long way to go if we are to get into the play offs, four of the next six are away and our away form for most of the season has been shocking. If we can get a win at Huddersfield on Saturday that could be the springboard we need.

2 points off a team with a game more played, if we beat hereford whenever the replay is, we're in playoffs :P still need to win other match though obv!

We did play with great passion last night. That's what we have to maintain. With the footballing ability we have, the rest will take care of itself. We were in hard for every ball against Millwall, epitomised by Robinson hammering one of their defenders against the cinder track early in the first half. We need that level of desire in every game now. If we do, I'm sure we'll make at least the playoffs.
