LUFC - Naylor makes move permanent

Leeds United have completed the permanent signing of loan defender Richard Naylor.

The Leeds born 31 year old has been at the club since mid January and has so far played four games for the club.

The lifelong Leeds fan has signed a two and a half year deal.

Speaking on the official website Naylor said "I`m really, really pleased this is sorted and after all these years I can finally call myself a Leeds player"

He`s so far played four games for the club and scored his first goal for the club in the recent 2-0 win against Southend United.

He was also given the captains armband after his first game in the absence of injured captain Frazer Richardson.

Naylor made over 400 appearances for Ipswich Town during a 15 year spell with the tractor boys and continuing he said "It`s strange leaving Ipswich after almost 15 years"

I am sure his love for his home town club made the decision much easier and he finished by saying "I wouldn`t have made a decision like this to go to any other club"

When we made him captain I thought that was a good enough sign that he would be joining permanently.

a good move...obviously he is an hero at Ipswich but the tone of their "good luck" messages is that they have seen the best of him at that level...lets hope he sees us out of this division as he is a lot better than what we had.
erni
I would prefer him as captain to Frazer.....Frazer didnt really do much for me at all as captain..he didnt step up to the challenge...
Gromjo
I agree Grnjo...too quiet and not on top of his own game enought to worry about what was going on with the rest of the team...a bit in Garry Mac s image
erni
Woooo!! We need him... Not like hes going to get us to the playoffs by himself though

Great news
