LUFC - Grella to be offered a contract?

Simon Grayson is still considering whether to offer American trialist Mike Grella a contract.

The 22 year old has been on trial at Leeds in recent weeks and scored a hat trick in his reserves debut against Barnsley.

He`s already won international recognition for the USA at both under 18 and 20 levels.

Grella has already been offered a contract by Canadian side FC Toronto but has shown a desire to play in Europe.

Grayson watched him again this week in a behind closed doors friendly against Hull City and speaking in the YEP he said "He played in a behind-closed-doors game on Tuesday against Hull and he did okay to be fair.

'He's a young kid who we've been watching closely in training and he's certainly got an eye for goal. It's an option that we could possibly go down but concluding a deal is not always that easy.'

Grella is also rumoured to be interesting a number of Premier League clubs whilst he`s been on trial at Leeds.

I think we should get him signed up, everyone who saw his debut against Barnsley were impressed. Give the forwards a bit of competition as well.

We have nothing to lose by signing him up....It would be a missed oppurtunity if we didnt....We have a bit of space in the squad now aswell with those few departures this week...
Gromjo
Saw the reserve game and he looked very good
yorkshirepride1
He also showed a few tricks aswell which would be nice to have.....We dont really have any players who have the confidence to show that sort of skill....Beckford and Delph do it sometimes but not that often...
Gromjo
