Beckford fastest to 20 goals for over 40 years
Jermaine Beckford became the fastest Leeds United player to score 20 goals for the season since Peter Lorimer in 1967.
Beckford may well have beaten Lorimer`s record if he had not got injured at Northampton on the 25th November, Lorimer who went on to finish the 1967/68 season with 30 goals reached the 20 goal mark on the 2nd December.
The 25 year old striker has now scored 21 goals this season in just 22 starts and 4 substitute appearances.
It`s the second season in a row that Beckford has scored 20 goals for the club having scored 20 goals in 45 appearances last season.
Leeds will be hoping that Beckford can now stay fit for the rest of the season has Leeds push to get back into the play off spots.
