LUFC - Leeds v Southend preview

Leeds entertain Southend United on Tuesday night hoping to continue their recent run of improved form.

Form:

Leeds
The Whites beat fellow promotion candidates Peterborough United 3-1 on Saturday, top scorer Jermaine Beckford returned from injury and came off the bench to score twice.

Team news:

Leeds
Andy Robinson is the only doubt after picking up a knock on Saturday against Peterborough; Jermaine Beckford will be pushing hard for a starting place after his two goal comeback as a substitute in the same game.

Southend
Alex Revell is out for the rest of the season after breaking his leg last week.
Ex Leeds striker Dougie Freedman missed Saturday`s defeat by Yeovil but will hope to be back in time for this game.

History:

The two clubs have only ever met six times in all competitions and the first of those was only three years ago in the League Cup.
The two clubs have already met this season at Roots Hall when a goal from ex Leeds defender Dan Harding gave the home side a 1-0 victory.

We should be full of confidence after the last two wins, Graysons got some tough decisions to make, could he risk giving Delph and Becchio a rest for this game?
dazza71
nope, i wouldnt risk giving delph a rest. maybe becchio though cos we have an adequate replacement for him
Dobbo96
Why not, put them on the bench and let Howson have a start. Snoddy deserves a run if Robinson isnt 100%. Question is do we leave hughes at RB if Frazer isnt fit ??
erni
Lets play it again Larry, no slip ups.

Put your best team out that's the rule. We have not won promotion yet. Three points agaist southend does not move us up the table one place so we need to win all our games. And remember we have lost 10 games this season. So we need to win at least six in a row to cause a bit of a stink amonst the clubs above us
