LUFC - Grella scores hat trick on debut

Leeds 21 year old American trialist Mike Grella made an instant impact in his reserve team debut on Tuesday night against Barnsley.

Grella who only gained permission to play for the reserves on Tuesday scored a hat trick in a 4-0 victory for Leeds with Neil Kilkenny scoring the other goal.

Leeds put out a very strong side with boss Simon Grayson casting a very close eye over his reserve team players.

There was a host of scouts at the game looking at quite a few Leeds players Grayson may be ready to offload, they may now turn their attention to the young American.

Let`s hope Leeds can tie him to the club after an impressive all round debut.

Teams:

Leeds: Lucas, Gardner, Telfer, Michalik, Parker, Prutton, Kilkenny, Sweeney, Sheehan, Christie, Grella.

Subs: White, Hotchkiss, Cartman, Ovington, Edwards.

Barnsley: Letheren, Tieman, Grundy, Branson, Potter, Fearnehough, Taylor, Heslop, Bennett, Hibbert, Noble-Lazarus.

Subs: Free, Crapper, Briscoe, Mellor, Scargill.
