LUFC- Grayson gives trial to American striker

Leeds have handed a trial to 21 year old American centre forward Mike Grella.

The youngster who is 22 on Friday will turn out for the reserves on Tuesday night against Barnsley.

He`s already represented USA at under 18 and 20 level, a lot of big thinks are expected of the youngster and reading one article on the playerpipeline website it said, he is a very "shifty" player with a tremendous first touch. He plays with confidence and style. He reminds me of Clint Dempsey. His OT goal against Wake Forest captured the ACC tournament championship for Duke. He is not easy to knock off the ball and he has exceptional dribbling ability. He doesn`t have blinding speed but uses his body and deception to make space for himself. He passes very well and has above average creativity.

Simon Grayson will be at tonight`s game taking a close look at him.

I hear he is a class act know some lads who are over america doing a football scolarship and say he is a Outstanding prospect very skilfull on the ball, strong and has a good eye for goal, lets hope we dont let this talent slip through our hands, hope Grayson signs him and gives the boy a chance.....

he finished up with 3 goals and set up a couple of decent chances for Sweeney and Ovingdon which were not taken...cant do a lot more as a trialist. Lots of scouts there apparently so lets get him tied up
