LUFC - Delph interest hots up

Fabian Delph continues to be chased by every club and their dog and the bandwagon continues with Manchester City the latest club rumoured to be showing an interest.

With City rumoured to be buying every player in the world during the transfer window I`m surprised it`s taken so long for City`s name to be thrown into the ring.

With Leeds desperate not to sell we could at least get far over the asking price if we sell to City as they have just paid well over the odds for Wayne Bridge.

The other clubs who have so far been rumoured to show an interest are Newcastle who were reported to offer a laughable 1 million pounds, Fulham, Sunderland, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Arsenal were reported to be offering around 6 million for the 19 year old, Arsene Wenger does have a good eye for going out and purchasing young talent, he`s bought Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey in recent seasons and generally plays his youngsters in the Carling Cup who have a great record in the competition.

Manchester United have reportedly come in with the biggest offer so far offering 10 million and two players Darren Gibson and Rodrigo Possibon on loan for the rest of the season, that price almost automatically rules out clubs like Newcastle, Fulham and Sunderland.

Leeds have continously said that their prize possession is not for sale at any price but surely if someone comes in with an offer around 10 million then Ken Bates will surely find the cash hard to turn down with it possibly helping the club to purchase new players and helping the club buy back Elland Road and the Thorp Arch training academy.

It`s going to be an interesting January to see if Leeds can hang onto Delph.

WILL WE or WON'T WE. I hope not but if we do, a minimum of 15 million so we could replace him, With who thats the BIG question.
pete mc
We will just bring through another one of our great academy players.
Stay and be a hero, or go and be an average Premier player.
big fish in little pond? or little fish in big pond?
It'll be between the two Manchester clubs who gets him!
Delph will not be an average prem player, he's class. lets just hope that Mark Hughes feels he needs to splash the cash to save his job. i think Delph could hold in own in the Man City midfield even now. anything but see another player go to Mould Trafford !!!
15 million ... Come on lads ..Lets get back intouch with reality I really thought you had your feet back on the ground, but this is ridiculous..Doesnt make a jot of difference to me,but carry on like this and you will be looking for the vallium again...

Man City yourselves a favour..Dont forget he had to be substituted against us to save him from further embarrasment..and we all know what you think about

you're rap? im a bit hip hop...
Dont say i didnt warn you...

80s Terrier, We see him week in & week out & we don't judge him on one game like you. He's a good player with plenty of quality & going to a prem side could make him a great player.
pete mc
but the prem isnt like div 1.......would he make the grade....???
I never said prem was like the 1st div, what Im saying players/teams improve when they play against better opposition & play with a more competent team. If SAVAGE can play in the prem Delph would fit in easily remember he's only 19 & will improve with the right guidance.
pete mc
so long as he's not band from driving. Quote:On 23 December 2008, Delph was arrested by police and charged for drink-driving in Rothwell, Leeds. He will appear before magistrates in January 2009.
pete mc
i think 10-11mil is a fair price at the minute, although he will be a very very good player, remember he's 19. the fact that arsenal, man city and man u are interested shows that they also think he could get in their sides now! i'd say he's not too far behind the likes of denilson and ireland. hope we dont sell him, but Bates will probably want to cash in as usual.
Fair point Pete mc..fair point..!
