LUFC - Delph interest hots up

Fabian Delph continues to be chased by every club and their dog and the bandwagon continues with Manchester City the latest club rumoured to be showing an interest.

With City rumoured to be buying every player in the world during the transfer window I`m surprised it`s taken so long for City`s name to be thrown into the ring.

With Leeds desperate not to sell we could at least get far over the asking price if we sell to City as they have just paid well over the odds for Wayne Bridge.

The other clubs who have so far been rumoured to show an interest are Newcastle who were reported to offer a laughable 1 million pounds, Fulham, Sunderland, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Arsenal were reported to be offering around 6 million for the 19 year old, Arsene Wenger does have a good eye for going out and purchasing young talent, he`s bought Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey in recent seasons and generally plays his youngsters in the Carling Cup who have a great record in the competition.

Manchester United have reportedly come in with the biggest offer so far offering 10 million and two players Darren Gibson and Rodrigo Possibon on loan for the rest of the season, that price almost automatically rules out clubs like Newcastle, Fulham and Sunderland.

Leeds have continously said that their prize possession is not for sale at any price but surely if someone comes in with an offer around 10 million then Ken Bates will surely find the cash hard to turn down with it possibly helping the club to purchase new players and helping the club buy back Elland Road and the Thorp Arch training academy.

It`s going to be an interesting January to see if Leeds can hang onto Delph.
