LUFC - Hereford to hold pitch inspection

Hereford United are to hold an early pitch inspection ahead of their League One clash with Leeds United on Saturday.

Referee Graham Horwood is going to hold a 9am pitch inspection with temperatures expected to plummet overnight.

The early inspection will give most travelling Leeds fans enough notice before setting off.

Leeds United were annoyed last season when Doncaster Rovers called off their game at The Keepmoat close to kick off when most fans would have been well on their way to Doncaster already (me included, left home at 6.30am, travelled 200 miles and was already in Doncaster when it was postponed).

Let`s hope Hereford have some sort of covers on the pitch so that the game can get the go ahead with Leeds full of confidence after their win at Stockport on Sunday.

It gives fans enough notice but it works both ways, the pitch could be well frosty at 9am and playable by 3pm!

who said we played on Histons pitch ?? They played a bit but we didnt play at all...lets hope Grayson can adjust his tactics if its a case of the pitch being too poor to play football on and it gets to long balls into the area.also lets hope Lubo continues his improvement to defend high punts into the box

Its a bit frosty this morning but I hope its not bad enough for the referee to call off the game.

im in leominster, 12 miles north of hereford and my garden is frozen. At 9am the ground will not be playable so im sure they will call another pitch inspection closer to kick off and hopefully it should be ok by then
