LUFC - Grayson relishes challenge

Simon Grayson is relishing the challenge ahead at Leeds United the club he supported as a boy.

The 39 year old started his career at Leeds United although he only made two appearances for the club before leaving.

Speaking on LUTV Simon said "It`s a massive club and they are close to my heart, having played here and supporting the club. The size and the ambition is obviously an attraction as well"

The former defender has enjoyed success during his short managerial career at Blackpool, guiding them to The Championship via the play offs in 2007.

He continued "I know there is an expectancy level and it`s a challenge I am looking forward to. There`ll be near a full house here on Friday and the club has that tradition and history"

Grayson couldn`t wait to join the club he first started at as a14 year old and was quick to thank the chairman when he said "I`d like to thank the chairman for giving me the opportunity to come into the club and hopefully it will be a successful partnership"

It couldn`t be much more of a difficult start to his Leeds reign with a home game against league leaders Leicester City on Boxing Day then a tricky game away at Stockport County two days later. He will be hoping to stop the rot as Leeds have lost their last four League games which have seen them drop down to ninth in the table, five points outside the play off position`s.
