LUFC - Leeds sack McAllister

Leeds United have relieved Gary McAllister of the manager`s position after a dismal run of form has seen Leeds slip to ninth in the League One table.

McAllister took over in January and led Leeds to the Play off final which they lost 1-0 to Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers.

Leeds started the season fairly well and were second in the table in early November but a disastrous run of results including being beaten by part timers Histon Town in the FA Cup has led to Ken Bates showing him the door.

The board have taken the decision to give the new manager enough games to try and get Leeds back into the promotion picture at the end of the season.

They also wanted to give the new boss enough time to get the players in he wants during the January transfer window.

During McAllister`s time as manager of Leeds they played 50 games, winning 25, drawing 8 and losing 17 a winning percentage of 50%.

Ken Bates as never been shy of sacking managers in the past, after the run of results we have had it was unfortunately for McAllister inevitable.

HAHAHAH, XMAS JUST GOT BETTER!!

I for one are more than happy he's gone along with quite a few others so why you laugh when we are all pleased I am not sure? You should know better than anyone recently when you look at how your clubs fortunes have changed since sacking your manager. You should have been happier if he stayed because we would only have gone further down the table.

Any thoughts, Wish we got rid of him earlier Big Sam would have done. My next Curbishley, hope its not Billy D we need a manager that sorts out lazy players. Whats your thought we need to start to climb the table NOW. WISHING ALL LEEDS FAN A GREAT XMAS WITH 3 points from Leicester
pete mc
you made the write chose because you have lost the last 6 games.

Really didnt think papa smurf could afford to sack super mac from a financial prospective...On the other hand with hindsight,in a practical sense he couldnt afford to keep him any longer either... If smurf had allowed the situation to go on any longer likely as not you would have continued in free fall, and lot would have been at smurfs door baying for his blood...In that sense macca had to take the bullet... Dont count you chickens before they are hatched though...! macca's pay off will have to come out of the next managers transfer budget, and i dont think Mr Boothroyd or any other half decent manager would be comfortable taking on a side in free fall, with no confidence, and no money..Still ive just been proved wrong about macca, maybe im going to be wrong again..Time will tell..!

Its a shame it didnt work out I would have loved him to be a legend

Im with you on that Brigs..Still the club has to move on and a new manager to move in..Hope he's a goodun is all you can hope for i guess.

Ludicrous decision, had no chance to try to turn it round. We'll end up have a new manager every 12 months at this rate. We need stability to be able to build for the future. Lets hope its not O'Dreary.

What makes you think he could guide a car to a parking space when he's not been able to guide Leeds!
