LUFC - Delph picks up award

Fabian Delph has beaten his Leeds team mate Jermaine Beckford into winning the League One PFA 2UP Fans' Player of the Month Award for November.

Delph who is regularly being linked with a big money move to a Premiership club during the transfer window has continued with his fantastic early season form throughout November which culminated in him making his England under 21 debut against the Czech Republic.

He also beat Bristol Rovers Ricky Lambert and Leicester City`s Matt Fryatt who were also short listed for the award.

Fabian will receive his award before Leeds next home game against Colchester United.

The PFA`s Mick McGuire is another big fan.

He says: "Having made his debut as a scholar, he has emerged this season as a player of immense promise, scoring two outstanding goals against Walsall in October.

"He continued his impressive form into November and the 19-year-old recently figured in his first England Under 21 international against the Czech Republic.

"Little wonder that he is already attracting great interest from a number of Premier League clubs."

The full list of winners is:

Premier League

Cristiano Ronaldo - Manchester United

Kevin Doyle - Reading

League One

Fabian Delph - Leeds United

League Two

Jamie Ward - Chesterfield

The four divisional winners were recognised by football fans across the country, who voted on the PFA`s website, as the best players in their division during November 2008. Four fans who voted for the winning players will be chosen to go to a match and present the trophy to the player. The winners will be chosen at random and will be announced later in the month.

Some good news at last i guess...MOT...
"Continued his fantastic early season form throughout November"... Your avin a laugh there 71,he was so mediocre (im trying to be polite) against us you had to take him off ...
80s terrier
Well yes I agree to a point 80s T but if it hadnt been for the posts crossbar and your keeper he would have scored a hatful! ;-)
Fair point barry white ... So on that basis are we to assume he should have stayed on...?
80s terrier
Laughing rights at the end of the season will be ours, no matter where we finish you'll always be below us, when was the last time you won a major trophy in the 80's thats the 1880's. Terriers more like chihauhau's

If you dont mind tiny terrier were having a serious dicussion here..

Where were we barry white.?
80s terrier
Well its in the past now so no way of knowing. Pity you couldnt have kept that lad from Derby is it Dickinson? Couple of my mates are town fans and rated him. We could do with a decent 3rd striker maybe that would keep Beckford on his toes!
He will leave you in a few weeks for a better club.

The lad dickinson did ok for us,but was always going to be a loanee, im always sceptical when a manager brings in a loan or permanent signing ahead of perfectly good players already in the squad who specialise in that particular possition .. To me it sends out all the wrong signals ... If the lads already in the team arent worth the shirt they shouldnt be at the club in the first place... Your strikers seem perfectly good to me .. If anything id say the coaches /manager are to blame for their extended run of under achievement ... Its alright hoping they will come good again, but theres something just not right behind the scenes ... Maybe it is time for a new manager and some new ideas to spruce things up again..Cant see papa smurf wanting to risk splashing out any more (serious) cash while macca is at the helm..
80s terrier
Here's something for you leeds fans to think about ... If the lad delph is sold for a few bob,it might give papa smurf the financial means to pay macca off and set up a new manager with some transfer funds...You might be stuck with good old macca till January if thats the case..!!! Only a thought, but there might be some mileage in it..Still a lot can happen between now and then...If the teams fortunes change macca becomes a hero again, and eveybodys happy (except us of ...
