LUFC - Northampton v Leeds Cup replay preview

Northampton Town and Leeds United meet again in front of the Setanta Sports cameras for this FA Cup first round replay.

In the first game Northampton took an early lead through Scott McGleish, on the half hour mark The Cobblers were reduced to ten men when Giles Coke was sent off for two bookable offences.
Leeds equalised soon after when Andy Robinson converted a penalty kick after a foul on Jonny Howson.
Leeds dominated proceedings but couldn`t break down a very resolute Northampton defence.

The victors will once again be in front of the live TV cameras in the second round for a tie at Conference pace setters Histon Town.

Form

Northampton
The Cobblers lost at home on Saturday 1-0 against Oldham Athletic.

In all competitions so far this season at home they have won three, drawn three and lost two.

They have only played one Cup game at home this season losing 1-0 to Brighton in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy.

Leeds

In Cup competitions on their travels they have beat Chester 5-2 and lost to Rotherham 4-2 and Derby County 2-1.

Team news

Northampton
Giles Coke will probably return after serving his one match ban for his sending off in the first game.

Colin Larkin (thigh), Adebayo Akinfenwa (calf), Abdul Osman (knee) and Chris Doig (hamstring) are all out.

Man to watch: Leon Constantine

Will be out to prove a point against his old employee`s after being allowed to leave Leeds in the summer. Didn`t have much chance in the first game with Northampton spending most of the game defending

Leeds

The Whites will probably make quite a few changes for the FA Cup if the League Cup and Johnstone`s Paint Trophy are anything to go by

Alan Sheehan, Rui Marques and Paul Huntington could all be pushing for a start.

Man to watch: Robert Snodgrass

Snodgrass has impressed in his two starts recently and was man of the match in the original tie for Leeds.

The two clubs have only ever met on seven occasions previously including the recent 1-1 draw.

When they last met at Sixfields it was last season in the League, the game finished 1-1.
In last seasons FA Cup Leeds went out in the first round for the first time in their history losing a replay 1-0 at Elland Road against League Two Hereford United.
