NEW SIGNING!

Leeds have signed 22-year-old striker Jermaine Beckford from non-league Wealdstone. He has scored 35 goals in 40 games for the Ryman Premier League outfit this season.

Kevin Blackwell: 'We are delighted to have signed Jermaine.

'We were aware there were a lot of clubs interested in him. We understand Southampton, Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Watford put bids in but for me, when Leeds United come calling, there's no contest.

'The chairman thinks there are one or two nuggets in the lower leagues and he wants us to try to tap into that resource as much as possible.'

Nice move good luck to the lad he's obviously shown he's capable of using his head as well as his feet. Our academy as shown they can spot & nuture young talent so this is very encouraging. Does this mean the Andy Gray loan is off for now? although after Ricketts not sure we need any more expensive rated stickers not on form. Robbie Fowler is looking useful again, maybe he could pop in as we are still paying his wages, and help repay some of the millions we invested in him!! ?
