LUFC - Macca backs Beckford to regain his form

Gary McAllister has backed his misfiring centre forward Jermaine Beckford to start finding the back of the net again.

The normally prolific goal scorer is going through some what of a drought having not scored in the last five games.

He once again missed a host of good chances in the game at Cheltenham on Saturday.

McAllister speaking on the BBC sport website 'As long as we keep supplying him with ammunition I'm sure it'll come good.
Strikers go through these little patches and he's got to be strong and trust himself.'

Although going through this drought he`s still managed to find the net 13 times already this season and was the clubs top scorer last season with 20 goals.

With fellow striker Lucciano Becchio now beginning to show the form that he produced in Spain last season the pair could still be on target to be the first Leeds strike partnership to score over 40 goals in a season since Lee Chapman and Carl Shutt in 1991/92.

I am sure Beckford`s return to form is just around the corner but it may be worth McAllister bringing in another striker on loan just to get him back on track by giving him competition for his place.

All good strikers can go through a bad patch, I am sure his goal scoring will return very soon.

Am i the only Leeds fan that thinks we need another striker in at leeds what happens if one get injured or suspended lets be honest you cant afford to have strikers going through a bad patch when you want to get promoted, we need to get promotion this year or it will be a rebuild plan again at leeds cant see Delph,Beckford,Robinson,Becchio,Bradley Johnston staying for another season in league 1,Macca should bring in Widnass and a decent centre back to bolster the back line up and Beckfords main problem to me is that he has no competition on the bench for his place,we all moan when the defence dont defend but why is a striker on the pitch for to score goals to many chances wasted latley in front of goal this will come back and hurt us,against better teams no disrespect Cheltenham we should of scored 6-7 goals we will not get away with that against the bigger guns in the league look what happened at peterbourgh, Southend they did not waste there chances Come on Macca get a striker in MOT.....
