Rob Hulse opened the scoring on 20 minutes to set Kevin Blackwell's side on course for a seventh successive home win. But the Canaries showed a lot of bottle, and if it wasn't for Eddie Lewis' sensational free-kick late in the game they could have done a 'smash and grab'.

The visitors dug deep, battled back with a strong second-half display with goals from Andy Hughes and Paul McVeigh.

Blackwell went for 'same again' after the 'Performance Of The Day' award last week at Selhurst Park. The side was unchanged from that 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace but they had their hands full keeping tab on Leeds old boy Darren Huckerby down the left flank.

Robbie Blake missed two great chances to open the scoring before he crossed from the right flank and USA winger Lewis flicked the ball over Doherty on the edge of the box and then miscued a left-foot volley. However, the ball fell kindly into the path of Hulse, who simply controlled the ball and slotted it home unopposed from 10 yards to put Leeds ahead.

It was the 12th goal of the season for Hulse. The 1.1million summer signing from West Brom set up the win, but Norwich produced a vibrant second-half display which was richly rewarded with goals from Andy Hughes and Paul McVeigh.

However, Lewis produced a delightful free-kick into the top corner as Leeds gained a point which could prove crucial. How important that goal will be will only be decided on the last day of the campaign.

(Arsenal fan here, currently at Uni in Leeds) It's a shame Leeds didn't win, I thought they deserved it - but then again, any team that concedes two goals in a match is lucky to come away with a point. I still think you'll pip Sheff United to the automatic promotion spot, and Leeds will be back where they belong. Elland Road seems to cut a forlorn figure on the Leeds skyline at the moment...

Its not a shame they didn't win, they deserved nothing from this game and the Premiership is no place for the thugs that follow leeds

Leeds fans get branded thugs unfairly in my view. The Leeds fans I have met have been sound and they are a Premiership club no doubt about it!

I've never seen any 'thug' trouble at Elland Road. I think ex-players have been more guilty than fans of thuggish behaviour in recent years (Bowyer & Woodgate).

Should have been all over by half time & our lads had a wake up call. A valuable point which means we have appotunity to control our own fate, just play to our potential, win and were in automatic promotion. MARCHIN ON TOGETHER..NA NA NA NA..
