LUFC - Delph and Beckford near suspension

With ten League games gone I thought it would be a good time to delve into Leeds United`s disciplinary record so far this season.

Worryingly Leeds two main performers Fabian Delph and Jermaine Beckford are closest to serving a one match ban for players who reach five bookings; both players currently have three yellow cards against their names.

We have so far had two players shown a red card; Lubomir Michalik was shown a red after two yellow cards in the home victory against Crewe Alexandra. What was silly about the red card was Leeds were 5-0 up in injury time when he dragged back a Crewe forward and received his marching order, Crewe went on to score two goals in injury time.
The other red card was more straight forward when Alan Sheehan was shown a straight red for his two footed lunge at Swindon Town.

Full disciplinary record for the 2008/09 season

Fabian Delph 3 yellow cards
Jermaine Beckford 3 yellow cards
Frazer Richardson 2 yellow cards
Bradley Johnson 2 yellow cards
Robert Snodgrass 2 yellow cards
Neil Kilkenny 2 yellow cards
Lubomir Michalik 2 yellow cards 1 red
Paul Huntington 1 yellow card
Luciano Becchio 1 yellow card
David Prutton 1 yellow card
Enoch Showunmi 1 yellow card
Alan Sheehan 1 red card
