'If It's Football, It's Vital'

In Our Own Hands

Three points looked a 'must' prior to the game, but Eddie Lewis' free-kick at the death saved a point on a day when we were just grateful for small mercies.

Leeds assistant-manager Sam Ellis: 'We are a point nearer and it's in our own hands for the first time since maybe August or September.

'When we were 14 points behind Sheffield United we would have settled to be five points behind them with a game in hand and have to play them.

'It could be a better position but we're quite happy with the way it is and we know there are twists and turns along the way.

'But our players are fit and raring to go and they are looking forward to the next nine games. They actually think they can finish second so we couldn't be in a better position.

'From where we were it's a great point for us and that was the best free-kick I've seen for some time. We know Norwich are capable of good play and they won at Bramall Lane not so long ago.

'They played to their full potential and that's why we're delighted with the way the point came.'
