LUFC - Leeds v Rotherham preview

Leeds make their first ever trip to The Don Valley Stadium on Wednesday night to play Rotherham United in front of the Sky TV cameras for a Johnstones Paint Trophy clash.

Form
Rotherham have just managed to wipe out their seventeen point deduction and if not for this would currently lie in fourth place in the Division. Last time out they beat Grimsby Town 4-1 at home.
So far in the competition they have yet to play having received a bye in the first round.

Leeds lost their first game in ten on Saturday losing 2-0 against Peterborough United. So far in this competition Leeds beat Bradford City 2-1 at Elland Road.

Team news
Rotherham
The Millers may stick with the side that beat Grimsby on Saturday.
Richie Barker is ineligible after playing in the first round for Hartlepool United.

Leeds
In the last round Leeds made nine changes from the side that played the previous Saturday. David Lucas had to pull out of Saturday`s game with a finger injury and it will be a surprise if he`s risked for this game.
Also fit again is defender Alan Sheehan who has missed the last four games through suspension and injury.

History
The two clubs have met on fourteen previous occasions at Rotherham with the home side having the better record. The Millers have won six to Leeds five and three draws.

Hope they were all on the database, Dobbo!

Dobbo96, how did they get tickets? From a Rotherham fan, who couldn't get tickets!!!

Live on Sky you don't hsve to go to the gsme

Serious question,I must have missed this, but how long have Rotherham been playing at the Don Valley and why? I have been working in Germany for 2 month and must have missed it.

Since the summer, SLF. The new owners and the landlord of Millmoor couldn't agree on a fair price. So, we got shipped off to Sheffield (arghhh!) It's not ideal, it's not a football ground but it could have been worse. The FL aren't happy about us being there and insist we are back playing in Rotherham within 4 years - and so say all of us!

To answer, TT - tbh, that isn't the point it being on Sky. Some of us, not all, feel we have been treated a bit unfairly. The reason we have had to have a database is because we are playing Leeds (remember, the Police wouldn't let us play our pre-season friendly with you?). As far as I'm concerned we have never ever had a problem with Leeds fans. The reason, as far as I can see, is because we are playing in Sheffield. Yes, btw, I am on the database but friends I wanted to watch the game with aren't and so I am just having a private protest of my own by not going.

That's South Yorkshire Police for you caz!!! I know its not the same as being at the game but stay at home in the warmth and have a glass of something nice and watch it on the TV.
dazza71
Oh, I shall do. Got SB and HH coming round and having sausage sarnies at half-time and a bottle or two of jacques - so shall be happy. And, no, it's not the same as being there
herringthorpe
I watched Corro
