Telfer on Tour, Why?

Ex-Celtic and Scotland defender Paul Telfer is on trial with Leeds United, as manager Gary McAllister adds him to his pre-season Ireland tour squad.

Telfer spent his Celtic days under the stewardship of Leeds United legend Gordon Strachan, and now joins up with fellow Scot McAllister as he prepares his squad for the upcoming League One season.

It appears to be a strange move to add extra experience to what could become a youthful Leeds United setup, however it should be noted that Telfer played his football at Bournemouth last season, having brought himself out of retirement to do so.

Will 36-year-old retiree (once already) really add anything to our team?

He'll increase the average age of the side!

dont read to much into this, pre-season is littered with pros on trial etc who dont actually end up getting a contract( we had a few last year) . good way for manager to see if hes got anything to add to squad tho.
