Sweeney on the Championship

Peter Sweeney assesses Doncaster and Forest's chances of Championship survival and tips former Forest man Kris Commons to have an outstanding season at Derby County.

I picked out Jermaine Beckford and Dougie Freedman as Leeds players of the season. As for the rest of the league, one player who really made a mark was Kris Commons at Nottingham Forest. People are always saying he can play at a higher level. I think he will do well in the Championship playing for Derby.

'His old club Forest should do well in the new season. They have players with Championship experience and should be okay playing at a level higher. Doncaster may have to bring a few players in. They're a good footballing side but don't have much experience of the leagues above. I wish all the sides that got promoted this year all the best. Hopefully we will be joining them soon.'

Who is Peter Sweeney all of a sudden the club spokesman?
dazza71
who's sweeney?
Dobbo96
Sweeney was John Thaw.(lol) I can see Donny coming straight down, If you want to go forward you don't sell good players to clubs that could do damage to your own survival. As for Leeds we need to improve our back line if we want promotion.
pete mc
so we need to buy the leicester defence then?
Dobbo96
Only if we want to go down
Tiny T
Leicester have already sold their best defender to Ipswich Town.
