Crewe & Leeds United Agree Elding Fee

Leeds United have agreed a fee with choo-choo-Crewe Alexandra for former Stockport County striker Anthony Elding.

Elding hasn’t really featured that much in a Leeds United shirt, scoring a senior goal at Chesterfield, and then adding 4 goals for the stiffs in as many appearances, and now looks all ready for a departure as boss Gary McAllister is linked with bringing in Derek Riordan and Kevin Phillips.

The deal is not said to include any potential swap for Crewe’s exciting talent Nicky Maynard, who may well stay on at the Alexandra Stadium a while longer, prior to his big money-making move away.

He didn't really get a fair chance at Leeds. Kept scoring for the reserves but couldn't get in front of the cone!

Sounds to me like good business for Leeds to offload a player who is no more than an average league two player at best.

All the best to you Elding.
