Thieves Strike Leeds United

An England shirt worn by Don Revie has been stolen as Elland Road suffered a break-in on Saturday night.

The shirt, worn by Revie for England’s game against Ireland in the 1954/55 season, had been hung in the West Stand’s main reception area, and the club are appealing for any information that could lead to its recovery.

The message on leedsunited.com reads:

“The shirt is both priceless and irreplaceable and we would appeal to anyone who either knows its whereabouts, or is offered the chance to buy the shirt, to please contact Colin Lockwood on 0113 367 6129.”

I can never understand why thieves pinch these sort of things. What worth are they to them, they will not be able to sell them on.

Dont understand the mentality of people who do that sort of thing either, and so soon after your statue was defaced...Whatever people think of leeds one way or another ..Theres no room in football for this kind of behaviour...Hope you get the shirt back undamaged..

They can certainly sell them in private, it was probably stolen to order. disgusting but true.

It is shocking what people will pinch these days. Can only end up in a private collection.
