Ling to Fight Leeds League Fight
The Daily Mail are reporting that Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling is going to stick his nose where it is very much unwanted.
It has been suggested that should Leeds earn their points back from the Football League, that the Orient boss would then take the fight back into the courts to ensure that his team do not suffer as a result of an un-just points penalty being rectified.
Ling was quoted:
“Rest assured that if we finish sixth and lose the final play-off spot to Leeds on a courtroom appeal, we'd be straight back in court and the whole episode would drag on.
“My big gripe with any change now is that we've been involved in a race all season in which Leeds have been 15 points behind us all. Indeed, we've factored that into all our plans.”
What makes the Emperor Ling’s comments so interesting, and potentially amusing, is that he’s started the fighting talk regarding a hypothetical situation that in terms of current standing won’t happen! Also, why would a team and a manager factor in another club’s administration problems into their own plans?
Must have been a pretty poor plan as Leyton Orient sit in 9th place, behind Leeds on the same points. United do however boast considerably better goal difference and a game in hand over Ling’s side.
Something tells me he should have waited to see what happens, before shooting one’s mouth off to the press.
