'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Uncle Ken Gives In?

Leeds United have agreed, under protest, to a private arbitration hearing it was announced today.

Having clearly had the Football League on the ropes, it will be interesting to find out just how they justify a similar climb down regarding the decision to enter into a private hearing, rather than having the guts to take the fight for the 15 points all the way to the High Court.

Chairman Ken Bates told Leedsunited.com:

“We have agreed under duress to arbitration in private. But what have they got to hide?

“We believe this should be conducted in the open because people have a right to know. This is supposed to be about transparency.”

If they were hiding something Ken, we should have gone with two feet into the battle to highlight what they were hiding. That said, the fight isn’t over yet and Leeds United will now nominate a member for the hearing, alongside someone of the Football League’s choice and an independent party in the form of an Appeal Court judge.

More as we get it.

wrong decision!

Would going to the High Court get the matter sorted before the end of the season? Are the League taking a lower cost option to either a) Cave in completely & give all the points back, b) Offer a compromise of 5 points 'ish OR c) Work on the premise that to gain the Football League share, Leeds had to sign a waiver against pursuing the matter? I think b) may be pallatable to most?

Think both parties are about to settle for a compromise, neither side want to lose and end up red -faced.....i`d say 5 to 8 points back with a statement from both sides saying Leeds were rightly punished but in the end too severely all partys end up happy

I've Said All Along That Any Further Appeal/Legal Activity Would Get You FIVE Points Back....Good Luck...!

In true FA form, you appeal, you lose...another 15 points deducted...ye ha
Nelly180
I think the 15 points will be back on the table very soon.
dazza71
They are back on the table now but whose to say at the moment which pocket they'll land in.

BORING.You are going to blame the 15 point deduction on not getting promoted, but any club with real class in its ranks would p!ss that league by 25 points,so shut up moaning.
SweetLeftFoot
I think you'll get 5 points back, But nevertheless you still won't get promoted, us Jacks have the league sewn up

Football League and the F A must have alot to hide doing it in secret every thing should be out in the open, for the sake of all football fans.

I think we will get 10 points back they know they were in the wrong thats why its had to be done behind closed doors as they say the truth always comes out in the end,its nice to see sweetleft foot talking **** again SOME ONE SHOULD GIVE HIM NOT A SWEET LEFT FOOT BUT A SWEET LEFT HOOK.............................
brettino
Why on earth would they give you the points back. Rules were broken and you suffered for it. All the teams around you in the table would all understandably be irate if you got them back. That is, exept Swansea as they are miles ahead of you. 23 points to be exact. Actually, if you do get them back it would shut yoou all up which would be joyous. Swansea will still win the league WHATEVER HAPPENS so when we go up as champions you have nothing to say. Bunch of moaners...
