Bates Update on Leeds Legal Fight

The Football League aren’t particularly keen on a public arbitration proceeding admits Leeds chairman Ken Bates.

Following the offer of an Independent Arbitration, the League clearly do not wish to run the risk of the football world noticing that the 15 point penalty imposed on Leeds United at the start of this season was unjust, and in breech of their own regulations.

Mr Bates spoke to Radio Yorkshire today, and cannot see as to why the Football League are pushing for confidentiality when it is clear that the club will not accept this, more than likely continuing with their threat of High Court action instead.

“We said we would subject to that being heard in public, but they're not keen at all because they said it should be confidential.

“If it was a High Court hearing it would be public so what's the difference?

“What have they got to hide? I would have thought they would want the world to know how they made their decision and why they are defending it.”

Keep going Ken, you’ve got them worried now!
