'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Egg Chasers Gain Extra Seats

The Upper Tier of the East Stand at Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium has re-opened, just for the Rugby League!

The section of the stadium has been shut as Chairman Ken Bates cited problems regarding safety certificates and difficulties with the Health & Safety organisations as the reasons behind the closure.

It now appears that Rugby fans are (as we all know,) potentially less important when it comes to keeping people safe. The section of the ground has been opened up to supporters ahead of Leeds Rhino’s Carnegie World Club Challenge against Australian side Melbourne Storm on the 29th of February.

With the news that 7,000 extra seats would now be available, Leeds chief executive Gary Hetherington was naturally excited:

'It is particularly good news that they are opening the upper tier of the East Stand, which has released quite a number of lower-priced tickets.

'This will give more people chance to attend what is a unique event, a one-off world title fight in Leeds.

'We often complain about Leeds staging nowhere near enough world class events – this is a world championship game between two of the best rugby league teams in the world and we have a Leeds team, playing in Leeds, full of Leeds players.'

Now to open it up for the footy fans Uncle Ken!

it is but don't we now have to stump up 90k to the council????

It's been shut because you have fickle fans who stay away from bELLEND Rd at every opportunity and have any number of excuses ready for not supporting their pathetic club. Not because of "Health & Safety". Come along to a real ground for any game you like, and you will see OT full.
SweetLeftFoot

Sweet Left. Whilst I appreciate your "other side of the fence" comments. They have become increasingly insulting.

Consider this your last warning.
