Dalglish Leaves Leeds for Scotland

Common sense has prevailed as Gary McAllister opts not to offer a contract to former Houston Dynamo forward Paul Dalglish following his trial last week.

McAllister was alerted to the availability of Dalglish by Steve Bruce (thanks potato head) who was training with Wigan following the player’s departure from Houston following just 9 games in Major League Soccer. Paul, son of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish was a surprise inclusion in Leeds’ 3-0 reserve team victory over Rotherham United Reserves at the Millmoor last week.

However it now appears that Dalglish was not deemed to be good enough, left the club and has since signed for Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock.

Regarding the trial, boss McAllister said: 'Paul's been training over at Wigan.

'I know Steve Bruce and Eric Black very well and they were saying he looked pretty sharp but he wasn't going to affect their set-up.

'With us being two divisions below Wigan I thought we'd have a wee look, but we've decided his fitness isn’t where we want them.

'He's going to take up an option in Scotland and it's something we'll keep an eye on.'

According to Wikipedia, Kilmarnock will be Dalglish’s 14th club, spanning across 5 countries and 2 continents!
